泡桐村是当地海拔较高的一个山村，村民们世代散居在600多米高的坝上。如今，多条索道线将涪陵蔺市街道的梨香社区、泡桐村、大桥社区串联起来。以往村民徒步上山下山或到江对岸往往要花费近两个小时的时间，如今缩短到十余分钟，如果乘坐飞鹰式索道甚至不到5分钟就可到达河对岸。索道环线也被村民们称为“乡村空中地铁”“乡村空中公共汽车”。
